Empower logoIt's easy to feel stuck in a rut, not knowing how to get out and sometimes not feeling strong enough to do the things that will enable you to change.

EMPOWER workshops are designed to help anyone who wants to find a way of increasing their life chances. We encourage people to think about employment options, self employment, volunteering and or education as a means of moving out of the situation they are currently in. Let's say that's you... how will we help you?

We'll give you the opportunity to meet the people in the organisations that you need to meet. The people that have the ability to help you take your next steps.

  • We'll give you the space and time to explore new ideas and to think of all the things you could do.
  • We'll give you real and practical ways to overcome fear and ways you can deal with change.
  • We'll ensure that by the time you leave you feel that you can develop your ideas and have the confidence to follow them through.
  • We'll treat you with respect and provide a safe and supportive environment for you to try new things.

'Yes I can' coaching and mentoring is available with some courses and is optional – however we've found that people who attend these sessions feel better equipped to achieve their goals than others.

COURAGE

"It takes courage to embark on this journey.
But every journey begins with a single step.
Where might that step take you? And the next? Beyond that?
Fear is a learned response.
What you have learned, you can unlearn.
Draw strength for the journey from a fusion of what you know, what you dream about
and what your heart tells you in two a.m. silences.
When you hesitate on the threshold of a new beginning ask yourself – whose voice am I listening to?
Is it my over-protective mother?
The teacher who belittled me?
The partner who failed to support me and dismissed my dreams as grandiose and unrealistic?
Try listening to your own voice for once.
It is calling to you,
from beneath these outworn tapes of voices of long ago
people, many of whom you neither liked, nor respected.
Your unique voice is urging you to come from the shadows of I-want into the sunlight of I-can.
What will you see there?
Where will your vision take you?
And if the only hand to hold on this journey is your own,
know it is one you can trust – and step forward.
You've nothing to lose except the shackles of habit,
the blinkers of I've-always-done-it-this-way thinking.
What you might gain is the life you want.

Trust yourself.
Step forward.

This is your time."
